The Claims Wizard will automatically assign billing organization and provider taxonomy codes when claims are generated and sent/exported in the 837P file format.
IMPORTANT: You may only have one Special Identifier number per Organization and one per Provider. If you enter more than one for either of these, your service lines may duplicate or triplicate on your claim causing denials.

Set Billing Organization’s Taxonomy Code
- Go to the Settings tab on top.
- Double-click on Organization to Open the Organization page.
- Click on the Special Identifier’s icon next to the AKA box.
- On the Special Identifiers page click the Green Add icon in the top left corner to add a line.
- Click the dropdown for Type and select Taxonomy Code and then enter the code in the ID / Number / Code field.
- Check the box to connect the identifier (Rendering Provider, etc.).
- Click OK to close this page.
NOTE: Ensure the Taxonomy Code has a matching Provider box checked to link the two together.
- Click Save & Close back on the Staff Information page.
Set An Individual Provider’s Taxonomy Code
- Select Staff from the side menu.
- Select the specific staff member you want to work with and double-click to Open the Staff Record.
- Click on the Special Identifier’s icon next to the Last Name box.
- On the Special Identifiers page click the Green Add icon in the top left corner to add a line.
- Click the dropdown for Type and select Taxonomy Code and then enter the code in the ID / Number / Code field.
- Check the box to connect the identifier (Rendering Provider, etc.).
- Click OK to close this page.
NOTE: Ensure the Taxonomy Code has a matching Provider box checked to link the two together.
- Click Save & Close back on the Staff Information page.
