Appointment Status Types on NPA are used to determine if the appointments will include certain parameters, as well as let you track the different kinds of appointments you can schedule. The Appointment Status Type window is located on the Settings tab of the main screen.
An appointment status type determines if an appointment is:
-
Billable: If marked as Billable, the appointment will include Service Time. If the Billable box is not checked, the Service Time will default to 0 and the field will not be editable.
-
Payroll: If marked as Payroll, the appointment will include a Pay Code for the staff; the pay code is determined by either the Default pay code of the service (on the Service record) or by the one marked as Default for service/non-service appointments on the staff record. If the payroll box is not checked, the appointment's pay code will default to NO PAY and the field will not be editable.
-
Cancellation: If marked as a Cancellation, the appointment will turn black and the "Service Has Been Rendered" box will default to not being checked and become disabled.
-
Makeupable: This is used for cancellations. If marked as Makeupable, you will be able to use the service time for this appointment for another appointment with Makeup Reference Date (if the funding source allows it).
-
Auto-Render: This will automatically render the appointment after it is created.
We recommend using this setting for Billable Cancellations or Cancellations that need to be rendered for Payroll purposes.
Once the appointment status types are in your system, you will be able to select them on the Status drop-down menu of the appointment.
